Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water

Saba’s water supply is provided by AquaSab, the island's privately owned desalination plant, which produces high-quality reverse osmosis (RO) water. RO water starts as saltwater, which undergoes a purification process to remove salt and other impurities, making it suitable for domestic use. Once treated, this water is pumped to government cisterns through the public water grid, ensuring access across the island.

For residents who need water delivered, there are three main filling stations:

· Hells Gate

· Windwardside

· The Bottom

Residents can contact one of the local water truckers to arrange for delivery from these stations.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Rates

In a significant move to make water more affordable and as part of a larger initiative to support the Caribbean Netherlands, additional funding has been allocated for 2024 to reduce the cost of RO water on Saba. This subsidy, part of the annual purchasing power package, aims to increase the affordability of water for all Saba residents. The reduced rates will be available until the end of 2024 or until the allocated funds are fully utilized.

As of September 13, 2024, the rates for trucked RO water have been substantially reduced:

· Previous Rate: $60.00 per 1,000 gallons

· New Temporary Rate: $30.00 per 1,000 gallons
