SARS-CoV2 (COVID)
As of June 2023, COVID is no longer a reportable disease for the Caribbean Netherlands. Saba has no special measures or protocols in place currently.
If you feel unwell with cold or flu-like symptoms such as cough, sore throat, fever, or sneezing, please take normal precautions. If you are experiencing symptoms, consider staying at home to avoid spreading to others.
If symptoms worsen, including a high fever or difficulty breathing immediately contact the Saba Cares Clinic at +599.416.3288.
If you suspect you have COVID and want to self-test, tests are available for purchase at Saba Wellness Pharmacy.
If you test positive on a self-test, please take care to avoid contact with vulnerable people, especially elderly, pregnant or immunocompromised. You are infectious 1 to 2 days before you develop symptoms. You are most infectious in the first few days after you develop symptoms. This decreases quickly and after 5 days you are usually no longer infectious. If you cough and sneeze you are more infectious. If necessary, wear a mouth-nose mask if you have symptoms and cannot keep your distance.
COVID Vaccination and Booster Shots
COVID Booster shots are available annually during the fall/winter season for pregnant women and others who are at higher risk of serious illness, including those over the age 60.
For more information on COVID guidelines please visit National Institute for Health and Environment Ministry of Health, Wellbeing, and Sports (RIVM).
